FINAL- 08 SDR AKRO PIPE OPTIONS

As you some of you will be aware, I have had issues regarding the fueling of my bike, since May, KTM have inspected it this week, it's being returned in a much better state, and they have been very informative and helpfull about the issues, the jury is still out on the sub 4k fueling though, will do some miles this weekend.

What you need to be aware of:, The Akro Evo's are not a "KTM" recommended fitment (despite the web information), there is no map for that set up, our engines are different to 2007 models, the options for 2008 owners are quite simple:

1, Standard set up,
2, Race pipes, baffles out and race map, race only not for road use, (part 61005099000)

The race map would not suit the evo's, evo's are more restrictive, so technically, I am running the wrong map for my set up, until KTM release one

EDIT: Meant to say I had the "race map" on my 06 SD & it was jerky as hell - until I took the baflles out - then it was much better. Too loud though & attracts too much attention.

I intend to get a power commander anyway but I've seen my fair share of SDR's w/ evo pipes fitted on some of the superduke battle bikes. If it's good enough for those hooligans then it's good enough for me.

Martin, I think Couchcommando is running the standard setup and his runs like a sack of shite (as did mine for the run-in period when it was in stock trim).

I'm going to do some miles with the custom map and Evos and see if it degrades like before.

As I promised the KTM technician, I have been out and done some miles, she is heaps better over the 4k, under 4k, yes there is an improvment, but that quick action throttle even with a G2 is fierce and 2k fueling don't do much at round abouts and town riding is entertaining, 2k to 4k improved, but not like other bikes, overall more liveable, but would like to experience her with a "proper" fuel map, I think these bikes are like 748R's, love em, or hate em, but those looks, brakes, gears and ride are great, me staying
