#8I use sport settings for track, it stiffens up the bike, its too harsh for me on the road, but your roads might be smoother.

#11Just had my 07 standard SD checked on a G.M.D. Alignment/ geometry measuring device. I just wanted to see what the real numbers were.
Rake; 23.7 degrees
Trail: 97 MM
Swingarm angle: 7.9 degrees
Offset: 28MM
Measurements taken with Bridgstone BT016 tyres, (34psi F&R) rear sag at 35mm, front sag at 37mm, and the fork tubes flush with the top of the triple clamp.
These numbers suggest a very quick handling bike. ie easy turn in, a little nervous at high speed/ hard accelerating over bumpy tarmac.( All the reasons we love this bike!)
I guess that is why KTM went with a shallow swingarm angle (most fast track bikes run about a 12 degree angle)
FWIW the SDR has a 6mm longer shock and a slighty longer forks to get a very steep 23.0 degress of rake, mabey thats why the R comes standard with a steering damper?

#12frunt forks on an SD'R has the same springs in as the same Standed set up as the 07 bikes and upwerds , they both have 9'5,NM springs in , the R has nightrade coted fork tubes , for less stickshone on the seals , and thats the onley difrence to the standed 07 upwerds bikes .
but both bikes have difrent priload and compreshon, rebownd set ups , so will sag difrenley ,under the bikes wate , fork legs are down as well in the top clamps as well by 4,mm so will increas the rake slightley ,compaird to the 05,06, bikes wich are up by 4,mm in the top clamps ,shortening the rake ,
the rear shock on the R has a 180'185, rear spring priloaded by 5mm ,
the standed SD has a 170'185 rear spring priloaded by 6,mm .
both bikes have diffrent priloads rebownd and compreshons ,set ups , so statick sags will be diffrent agayn between the two bikes , I dont think the R's have a longer rear shock , as the spring wood need to be longer , they are 15,mm hihger in the seat hihgt though .
