if it's cracked it would come apart, they must be pulled straight out, i got hasty and put a little side load on one and it broke easily. The same result will happen if you pull too hard on the hose to remove it from the elbow.
The tech who put mine back together didnt fully seat the vc gasket, (and forgot my airbox breather hose!)
I would say to try to check tightness of the 4 bolts, but since your in that far you might as well replace the works...
