Fuel Evaporative Cannister?

Well, I finally figured out how to get my seat off. I was hoping to find some under seat storage for visor cleaner and a rag. Instead, I found a large can with hoses to it that I suppose is a fuel evaporative cannister. As I recall, we removed them on my my Ducati and other bikes.

Do the euro models have them? Has anyone removed them? Any problems? Just plug the hoses, or remove them at the throttle bodies and plug them there? Any, and all, input would be appreciated.
