I've posted this before but instead of doing a search I'll dispense my knowledge forthwith. The pipe where the drip is comming from is connected to the filler neck to let any fuel spilt into or around the filler to escape. When you lift the tank, and particularly when it's quite full, the fuel level is above the filler cap, any fuel that gets by the filler cap seal escapes down the pipe intended for overflow, which is why you see the odd drip when the tank is up. So don't have a cow, it's OK.

eddiet204, Welcome to the most fantastic SD forum in this world. People will

be scrambling to disprove that last statement, from the 4 corners of the Globe.

As to the subject matter we have here today, a fuel leak has been a topic

here as of late, Mister Rick Plipton is our great and humble ambassador of

humanity, I must concur that he has most likely hit that nail upon its head.

Eddie, that is good to hear you have it sorted, this is amazing to me though, reason I say is cos I have

managed to wreck me thunder pumpkin and struck the fuel tank on her, or I should say the tank shroud,

got damaged by the crash, then when I went to the race track and was unloading the bike it fell over cos the

stupid ratcheting tie downs popped loose and the pumpkin fell over once again on the tank but still no damage to speak of,

for me this fuel tank is one (1) tough son of a bitch to take the abuse I have put her through with no trouble at all ....

That's good to know...i'm going out for an afternoon of hooliganism, so my fingers are crossed

It seems that I have a fuel leak at the fuel fitting at the rear of the tank.

It is where part 22 goes into part 21 on page 15 of the spare parts manual:
chassis.

I ordered some o-rings hoping to cure this problem.
I am wondering if anyone else has encountered this and did an o-ring replacement fix it?
I noticed in the manual on page 32 under fuel injection it says to replace the o-ring at 1000km, 7500km and 1500km and I am wondering if this is the one there are referring to.

A few (myself included) have had leaks at the fuel level sensor under the tank (leaky O-ring), but this is the first I've heard at the bottom of the tank.
Tightening bolts/screws that go into the tank is a delicate balance - too loose & it leaks, too tight & the plastic distorts (and leaks). I used 100% silicon to seal up my leak - works fine.

My SDR has started to throw abit of fuel out of the breather pipe when i park up,anybody got any ideas.
I do wheelie the bike but it also does it when keeping on the 2 wheels.
I have a moto hooligan box fitted if this helps with the diagnosis
Cheers

Front or rear? Is the tank pressurising?

I´m having the same problem... it is leaking on the front, left side of the bike... any help would be appreciated!

Front or rear? Pressurisation has nothing do with it. The vent system runs via the cap and back through integrated pipe out the rear. Filler recess overflow circuit is separate from cap influence & exits from filler recess through the front left tube. Tank fumes vent at rear, blocked integral tube is possible, just ask aprilia or mv boys. Or you have unique failure but don't worry, it's just your imagination. The tanks are perfect. I have in writing if you don't believe me. Lol

The front left side of the bike is where the tube is that evacuates the mess if you can't aim... e.g make a mess next to the filler, or the filler cap gasket leaks.
So improve your aim (with a ping pong ball in the toilet bowl LOL). Normally it has a rubber hose on it that runs down, someone might have forgotten to put it back after lifting the tank.
Also the screws that fit the ground spoiler are slightly longer, if you had both side pannels and the lower spoiler off at the same time you might have put the longer one in the side of the tank and screwed it through the plastic. In that case you need some good glue or liquid metal or so.
If the tank deforms it probably leaks first at the fuel pump as the O-ring won't seal anymore.
Let us know the outcome!
