Fuel light..

Hi i've just had my second day on the sd its totally awesome can't stop grinning!!! BUT I've filled the tank up with fuel three times but the fuel light is on all the time nnot sure what to do? Has anyone had this problem?

When you've filled up, make sure the trip is in 'F' mode, (when the light comes on, the trip starts giving you the miles you have traveled since the light came on with the letter 'F' in front for 'Fuel') then press and hold the set button. After a few seconds the light will go out. You can only do this with the ignition on and the trip showing 'F'.

it should turn itself off after about 8 mins with ignition on and a full tank. (but yeah, I always turn it off manually cos that light distracts me)

It's quite normal, I can get to the bike to the point where it needs filling up again before the eight minute delay is over!

To be honest, the light is shit, comes on too early and can't be relied on - I'd use the trip counter to measure your need for a refill instead

joe thinks he had read where KTM says it takes 3 miles for the light to shut off after refueling..... made me think, how can the tell yer 3 miles,

is it a function tied into the ecu....doubtful ? joe has noticed that his fuel light comes on at times for no good reason, upon cold start conditions,

but then will shut off after a few minutes of running. burned 8 gallons of fuel in 160 miles.....ott.
