Gear indicator

Anybody installed a gear indicator.....

I just run thru the workshop manual page 12-22, but the wires are mainly identified thru color. Did i get this one right:

Tacho (rev) signal: Blue/white wire pin 2 (can only be this one)

Speedometer signal i have two choices (as i see it):
Black/Brown wire, pin 15 on speedometer
Black/Orange wire, pin 14 on speedometer

Which one shall i use, or am i completely off......

Thanks.....

Thanks.

I guess i will be the first to document a full installation.

I have ordered this one (Orange.... ), and when i get it, i will try and make an installation instruction (during winter/spring).

Hi pingvin.

I bought it on the internet. The manufacturer is G.P.T.

I bought it from a company in Holland (MotoMoto)...cost EUR 85 including shipment.

I didnt install it on my bike because i got a GPS laptimer with gear indicator, so i dont need that orange one.

I installed it on Ratemut's SDR, but we didnt test it yet (Track bike). The shift light was working nicely. We have to wait and see what Michael says after calibrating it in Spain next week....

Installation is very simple (4 wires, two of them can be connected to the accessory power plugs).

I planned to make a DIY guide, but it has to wait until i have the time. If needed i have the neccessary wire colors, basically everything you need to know. (Allways ready to help....... )

I think (from reading other threads) that the SD only has sensors for 2nd and 3rd (well, and neutral) so these things would need a micro switch on the gear lever (or similar) to make them work properly.

I may be wrong though (it has been known )

You need permanent live, ignition live, earth, speedo, rpm and neutral light connections for the gear indicator. As the Superduke speed sensor is on the front wheel the only way to programme the gear indicator is whilst riding the bike - it won't work on a paddock stand
