Great big hole in my downpipes!

Not sure if its from Cadwell grinding down the exhaust and caused a stress crack, but got a bloody big hole in my down pipes:

You think this is weldable? its in an awkward place?

Are down pipes stainless steel?

Mate mine went in exactly the same place, as did Shade. Common place to go it seems.

They are stainless yes and that can be welded. Find yourself a local welder and then take to pipes off and take them to him. He will be able to patch that no problem. Had mine welded for £40 but that included us removing them and welding them then and there.

Dan whilst your there you might aswell hace a patch welded over that gap and connect the two pipes together just like they did with the akro Y pipe to give it a little more strength.

Thought yours just went near the front cylinder?

Phew, least it can be sorted, you would think they would last a bit longer then 17k Maybe they want us to buy some Ti Akras headers

Your bit is in the post first class BTW should get it tomoz.

That's where mine went at Jerez last May. I patched them up with 2 red bull cans and some jubilee clips. On the 3rd morning it got worse, a big section peeled back.

When I took them off I found the front collar had gone as well.

All welded up for £70 when I got home.
