Handguard hang-up... little help, please.

I wanted alittle protection from the winter air and saw Acerbis had a Supermoto handguard made to clear radial mastercylinders. I hoped it would be a quick job with their optional swivel mount for greater adjustability, but no luck. In order to mount at the appropriate height, I'll need "shorty" brake and clutch levers. I'll also have to do away with the bar end weights and I'm concerned about increased vibration.

I've seen some nice short levers on Ebay (orange and black, adjustable, very nice) but $175USD!! Anyone aware of less expensive options?
Also, anyone already have experience with bar-end weight removal?
Other options and opinions appreciated!!

joe hates bar end weights, they come off same time as the reflectors. mirrors work just as good with um as without um.

hey all

bar end weights are a matter of personal preference , lighter or heavier ones -or none - could alter the vibrations felt when riding . filling the bars with lead shot or a barsnake could help one way or another .

take it easy

I have had handguards for a while now. They are the KTM ones from the Adventurer. Not that expensive either.

I also removed weights and don't have any issues, even at high speeds.

For the real cold I opted for heated gloves....easy to install to your acc.
wires in your light cowl. Just plug-n-go

I have to admit even before I put the guards on I trimmed the OEM levers
and painted them. So I'm not totally sure they would fit, it would be close.

Now I do have the new levers everyone is talking 'bout and they fit no problem.

Here an older picture. Sorry it's not of the levers

I have just fitted handguards two weeks ago, but haven't had any chance to try them out yet because of the freezing temperatures outside...

The following picture is rather poor, will try to post some better ones when I'm back from xmas holidays.

I'm pretty satisfied with the result and think the Acerbis "Rally Brush" match quite good, plus didn't have bigger problems with fitting as 1. I bent the hell out of them and 2. had been fitting two finger cyclecontrol levers earlier already.
