fitted a set of accerbis vented hand gaurds 130km plus on windy day work fine ,put them on for cold wet weather and will not take them off they let air through when ridding around town and out on highway air (bugs ,rain)is deflected over Image they are hardly noticable from the sides and I dont mind the look from front

In the real world (in which we ride), I don't think you will have any issues with handguards - you won't be "cruising" at 120MPH, so don't sweat it. If you want to get smooth air up front, try taking off the mirrors once. BIG difference. If you like & want the guards - wear 'em. I am switching to bar-end mirrors to clean up the air flow around my noggin.
