Okay so my duke has been sitting all winter long. I decide it needs to be ran. I take it out for about a 10 mile ride. Once home I let it idle for about five minutes. I look at the rear head pipe and it is glowing red hot. Not a little glow but completely red. I look at the engine temp and it is showing normal.
The bike is a 08 with 1400 miles. Leo Vince cans baffles removed and the Akra flash.

What is up?
It's normal, and awesome.
It's a shame someone has replied.

I was going to tell you it was about to explode.

It IS normal, handy if you've forgot your ciggy lighter.

Thanks guys. Kinda scary to see a head pipe that red hot. Might have to carry a cigar to calm my nerves...... At least i have a built in lighter.
