I don't have the instructions, but you might check the manufacturer's website if you haven't yet. I believe Hotgrips has instructions on their site. This might also help:

Also, if I remember correctly, the SD (2007 at least) has two accessory wiring connections in the headlight mask. One is switched with the ignition, in case you forget to turn off the heated grips when you get off the bike. You probably knew all that but hopefully some of it is helpful.
