No, I used the accessory power leads inside the headlamp mask. On my SD they were located behind the white connector nearest to left fork leg. The three leads are: Battery + , key on + and Ground. I used the Battery + for my hot lead.

Ordered the DDM Tuning kit yesterday. I don't have a dremel tool.. hmm... Does anyone have any pics for the install? I can try to post some pics for this, $51 shipped to LA. Im pretty excited for the upgrade. I should say USA 2007 bike.
