How to check your valve clearences

I want to check my valve clearences but cant find any info on doing it. I have done my jap bikes in the past, using either factory manuals of Haynes but cant find one for the 06 990 SD. Are the shims on or under the buckets, whats the clearence's do the cams have to come out.
Does anyone have access or know where i can source this info from !!
