My bike has a problem. I just got new tyres and as I made more and more progress scrubbing them in and revved the bike higher and higher, I found that somewhere between 6,000 and 7,000 RPM it starts to cut out. It’s almost like a rev limiter kicks in, but instead of the ting-ting-ting sort of feel you get hitting the rev limiter, the pauses are bigger and irregular and when the power comes back on it surges. The power sort of stops for a fraction of a second to maybe ½ a second or so, and then lunges and then stops again on and off. It seems to run fine at lower RPMs. It does this in all gears (although it does it somewhere north of 7,000 revs in 1st, and I’m not certain it does it in 5th and 6th as I couldn’t get going fast enough to test that).
It's an 07 with just over 10,000 miles. Never a problem to date. It ran fine before I took it to the dealer, although it sat for about one week as I waited for the new tyres to come in. I don’t think it is a problem with the gasoline as I had used ½ of the tank without problem before I brought it in. Any ideas? All suggestions much appreciated.
