well, first off kudos to you for manning up and owning up to it.
Second, antifreeze isn't just to stop it freexing, it also helps keep the engine cool by improving the cooling proprties of the water. (sorry if you knew that already)
3rdly, I was told never to put cold water into a hot engine if it's leaking coolant etc....apparently it can fugg up gaskets n stuff. (again, I know it wasn't mentioned but I said that for future searches etc)
4th, I really hope you havent screwed it up mate, there's a coupla engines on eBay right now carying from £1000 to nearly £2000.....I suspect a new one is much more.
