G'Day guys,
I recently bought a full akra system and in the instructions it said to lube the slippn joints with ceramic grease provided. It was not. Has anyone else heard of this and what would be a suitable substitute if any?
A little silicon spreay will do ya.
Damn I installed mine without any such thing as there was no instructions. Just slotted together a treat.
Just got hold of a mate and he said he's never done it and he races. Good enough for me.
Is anyone running a motobox with full Akra's? If so do you have a PCIII map available?
I have an 06 with Motobox, 2nd flies removed and full akra. She is off to HM Racing for a tune tweak in the next couple of weeks and I will then put the map up on here. It will be a TuneECU .hex map though as I sold my PCIII when TuneECU appeared.
I used copper grease....the akras never came with anything else....i suspect they never do.
I just got hold of a mate and he installs them with the Akra love grease sparingly. He says it reduces chafing and is worth it for the price. He is a full time dyno and race mechanic. KTM Perth said they have never done it but I think I might just in case as it won't take too long to reassemble. I'm a little spewing I didn't pick up on the TuneECU deal a little earlier I've only just bought a PCIII as they are all I've used in the past. I think for $30 bucks I'll get a cable and give it a go. If it's the goods with your map Clink I might have to put it on eBay.
