interchangeable mirrors?

So, my right mirror on the SD is dying. The bearings in the adjustable portion are probably going out (it happens). I was tempted to replacing them with some aftermarket but I remember how awesome the ones were on my Aprilia. I can get a pretty decently cheap set... I just don't know if they will fit.

it looks like its a screw in replacement (on the Aprilia).

and if you look on page 6, it seems to be the same deal.

Ideas?

Most screw-on mirrors are interchangeable. I have Kawasaki Z750 mirrors on my SD and they are fine. Still show my elbows rather than the road behind though.

Pull back the outer sleeve and there are three screws that tighten/loosen the ball and socket joint.

The Aprilia ones fit just fine. Here's a crappy photo but these are the Aprilia ones. They screw right on and work okay. They don't shake but the stalks are a little narrow for the SD. I do have the bar risers and that makes a bit of difference as it puts my shoulders a bit higher.
