Strangley enough i popped into Redline KTM yesterday to show them my clutch booster to see if it was worn enough to cuase problems and see if they thought it was worth replacing (they do call it a servicable part).

I was talking through the clutch problems with the mechanic and he happended to mention that he has now seen 5 LC8 engined bikes with failed clutches, on everybike the clutch plates and metal rings have looked perfect and when measured were well within spec, no warpage etc but would still slip when under power! (and in 2 cases had no drive what so ever!)

KTM suggested to them to put brand new discs and metal rings in even though the old ones looked perfect and in every case in cured the bike!?!?!

In your case i would at least bleed the master cylinder and slave unit and have the discs out to give them a look over - a simple enough precedure which can be done on the side stand without having to drain the oil etc!

Stew.

I took the clutch cover off and inspected the discs and nothing appeared to be sticking or damaged from what little I could see. Will need to remove the discs for a better inspeciton and as you suggested bleed the system.

Speaking of bleeding, It's due for a service so I'll have em take a look at it. Hope I don't need a new clutch on top of a 2 yr service

thanks
