Just back from the dyno...

That's my lovely wee beastie just had her custom mapping done through at YPE in Bonnyrigg.
Need to send the dude through a usb pen so I can get the graph from him, but looking at it on site seems to have made a nice wee improvement.
A moderate 109 hp, with an increase of roughly five cuddies across the range.
Not the most powerful of steeds, but HUGELY changed on the motorway ride home.
Couldn't play too much due to the sleet, snow, sun, BLIZZARD, sun, rain conditions, but she is uber smooth now.
The hesitancy and fluffiness at 5k up has totally gone, happy to hold 3k in third with no shoogles, which is pleasingly 30mph.

All in all, well happy with it.
He did a map for both cylinders individually, looking at it both are massively different, which is reassuring.
Only took a couple of hours, so time enough for a couple of bacon 'n egg rolls, two coffees and a read of MCN.

Don't feel that the cash really justifies itself for the little power gains alone.
However, for the ride difference and mucho smoothness, I have no qualms at all about recommending it.
I'll need to go for a proper wee play and see how it feels, but so far I'm as happy as a fat alcoholic in a licenced kebab shop!!

I know, not really worth it for the extra power.
Would be better off just missing out on a couple of beers and a pie during the week.

The rideability difference however...
I'm gonna have to try her tomorrow, think a wee bimble through town and then on to the twisties is in order.

do you feel more power though? without before/after dyno, it's hard to say, this dyno might just read low. i'v seen as muchas 15 hp difference from dynos (145 and 160 hp readings on 02 gsxr1000, no changes made to the bike)
maybe stock on this dyno you'd read 95hp? or it might be that you didn't gain any peak power, but gain some throughout the range.
as long as you're happy with the way she runs - and it seems you are, that's all that counts!

ABM, you people will not believe the difference in mine after changing the gearing, fooking fenomenal!

I have done engine work on a few jap bikes to gain power, this gearing change for low and mid range has to be one of the most effective of all of the

various things I have ever done on a bike, this includes boring & porting an gsxr 1000, sos to become 1186cc's so try it you'll like it, I have a 41 tooth

rear w/stock front and OH.... MY ..... God it is good, feels like a 10 hp gain at least, just suits the powerband much better,

I guess the motor could have done something weird but I don't think so, I sit way up on the tank and in 2nd on the peg it still lifts the wheel. glorious shite.

for the top-end it probably ain't a gain, but this is the only draw back, I like the shorter wheelbase too, bout an inch shorter, steers nice!

I'm sorry, Joe. Did you say something? I was watching your avatar. Geez, son...I may tinker w/the sprocet(s) on mine, as well. I'll wait for them to wear out, though. At least the tyre, anyway.
