kill switch thingamebob?

When i stripped my 05 mask yesterday there was a little box bolted onto the rev counter speedo housing, with a lead coming out of it......it had up written on it, i seem to remember from another thread that i read a while back (cant find it) that it is some kind of kill switch.
I have disconnected it and put it in my toolbox.....will i have problems when i remount it....or is it just a case of having it in the up position when i start the bike?

TPS is throttle position sensor, I think....

samba's right, TPS = throttle position sensor, I think tip over sensors are just TIP or TOS!

Ok....has nobody come up with a way to disconnect this....i take it you get a F1 light if you pull the plug?
