Hi All
the KTM alarm that just plugs into the loom, I know its a Metasystem but what model Metasystem is it?, i need to let the insurance know.
Ironlung,

I asked Meta the same question last year it took a while but I got the answer in the end:

Good afternoon,

Thank you for your e-mail. I have looked on the Thatcham Listing, (which your insurance company should have done) and the KTM is listed with the following product reference, E587TK (Thatcham No.: TMC1-196/1104). This product is not supplied by MetaSystem UK, presumably directly from Italy.

Please ask your insurance company to check these details, which are located on page 59 of the Thatcham listings.
thanks for that, but (there's always a but with insurance companies) Bennetts have no listing for that alarm, they say don't have a thatchams listing for this alarm! any ideas what i should do next?
I do have a final resort which is the shop was supposed to fit a datatool system 4 alarm (which is what i told the insurance company) but he didn't because fitting the Metasystems mean't he just plugged it in, i could just take it back and make him fit the Datatool one, but i don't want to go there yet

Hello there, has anybody got any info on the actual fitting of the alarm to a 07 SD?

Know it’s a plug and play alarm but where does it fit exactly, used to fit car alarms in a previous life so no I can do the job, but every little bit of help is appreciated.

I know I require a dealers/fitters signature in order to comply with the Thatcham homologation, think this may be harder to obtain than fitting the alarm.
duke, it is to fit to the ktm mounting bracket kit,, Part # 611.12.035.044 (07)

this mounts under yer seat, whare the tool kit is and charcoal canister.

actual alarm for the 07 sd is part # 600.12.035.100

I'm not sure the cable for the LED is needed for the 07 model.
The new dash has an alarm LED built in, and KTM should have sorted the cable out already to be part of the plug and play contact.

Thanks for the replies, have been helpful to make da mind up to do the job myself, oh n the price from a dealer Dick Turpin motorsl (not my local dealer by the way) had something to do with it too.

Alarm £200
Fitting kit £34
Fitted price £356

£122 to plug into the loom then test… and maybe… if I’m lucky, fit a micro/reed switch to the seat.
This is about an hours work, no more than an hour n half max.

£122 / 1 ½ hours = £80 an hour

Was thinking to fit myself and ask local dealer who’s supplying the bike if they would witness the operation of the alarm then sign the necessary paperwork.

Sound advice Doc. can’t see how they can refuse. As far as programming the alarm is concerned…. should be in the instructions……I hope…..if not you’ve got it covered.

Nice one mate.

Thanks all for the advice!!!

This forum’s da dogs; this could be the start of a beautiful friendship

– anyone lend me a tenner -
No
I have the KTM alarm. Is there any way to configure it at?

On my other bike I have a Datatool alarm which fully arms the Alarm 30 seconds after ignition is turned off.

On the SD the alarm seems to only enable the immobiliser 30 seconds after the ignition is turned off. You have to manually arm the alarm for it to be fully armed (movement, tamper etc).

Yes the self arming is immobilisor only, not the alarm. The loom connection has the immobilisor circuits 'broken' that are connected in order for the bike to run by either the disarmed alarm or the plug. Having the plug there made it really easy to find all the wiring required to fit a non-KTM alarm!!
