Anyone on here have the KTM WP race shock from KTM hard parts

I am looking for feed back on how much better it is than the standard SD/SDR WP shock, The price is crazy so I want to be sure before I go for it

It all depends on your weight IMO. I'm 15 stone fully kitted up and the standard white spring on the '07 model was set to nearly full preload to get the sag right. The orange springed 180/185 shock is a bit longer than the standard one, (I put up a picture of the two shocks for comparison somewhere) and the spring is set on the least preload to get the right sag for my weight. The SDR shock I fitted was an ex racers from the Superduke cup series and had been re-shimmed so it was not quite a standard hardparts shock. To be really honest I think for road riding it is too hard and the standard shock was better. But after it was set up by a good suspension guy on track the additional firmness and maybe the revised steering angle, (from the added rear height) makes it really good.

IThe race shock is different to the SDR shock. Comes with preload adjuster and I would imagine far better components.

Price is crazy, 1133.62 from Bikers Jersey......

Ohlins would be cheaper if only they made a shock for the SD

Personally I've had Ohlins and Penske and IMHO Penske is a much better product. If funds allow I may go that route.

Who are the UK based company who's shocks are aqua blue?

These guys have a product that looks very Ohlins and they will do custom shocks.
A few guys I know who are still racing have fallen in love with them.
