I am getting conflicting stories on if I should get the AKRA map or leave it stock with a set of Carbon Leo's.

Any thoughts and or reasons?

Hidrio,

this has come up SO many times mate, check old posts for it.

basically, if your system is backfiring on overrun then your rear header gasket is blown. They have to be replaced every service as they blow out fast under the pulse wave of the SD.

it's a £7 gasket and can be done yourself.
mine was backfiring so much i was worried about muffler integrity, and - no joke - many times i sent people running for cover with a loud "bang" on overrun. Taking SAS off stopped it completely, no backfire now at all. None.

Graphite ring gasket located in the join in your rear header about 10" from the rear cylinder. It'll cure it. You need to repalce it anyway cos it'll be leaking gases onto your swing arm/rear shock and will also make your exhaust sound tinnier. Replace it and your exhaust note deepens, gases flow better and banging stops. All for £7.

I'm on my 4th or 5th gasket now, they blow out fast if you ride hard.
