Thanks Plipton, but I got some great news - Went for a quick 150km trip, and the power has returned - In fact, doing around 6 top gear runs it felt it pulled to 200kph a bit harder - Not huge, but there, and easy to feel - so HAPPY DAYS!!!
Oh, and they're so loud they drown out windroar at 180kph!!!

I guess the ecu must have needed a chance to adjust to the pipe, I can't think anything else - ambient temp is pretty close to the first ride.

How loud? On around 50% throttle I had 4 cars swerve away in fright, and most stare wide-eyed when coming up from behind. And 2 neighbours yanked open their kitchen curtains to see what was going on, when I came home . I'm going to be in trouble soon, one was reaching for something, a gun or a cell, I don't know !
Oh, very little popping on the overrun, little ones and not always.

Other good news? Yes! Before, I couldn't even maintain a steady throttle under 3000rpm without engine shudder, - now I can run as low as 2500 and even accelerate slightly, and no shuddering at all!!!
Other? The gearbox was great before the service. Now, it's almost telepathic! I put in motul 300V 15w50 (ktm didn't have motorex ) and so far it seems to be a good choice!

Quicker
Louder (by a fook-load )
Lighter (by the same measurement as above )
Maybe not the best-looking pipes, but already growing on me and shout 'competition' imo.

Did I mention the cans were loud?


(sorry guys, I know you all have pipes and they are nothing new to you, but just last week I was close to selling the bike due to financial problems (sob sob, poor me ), but a promotion means I can keep it, AND get the cans! So I'm like a 5 year old at Christmas - beyond mere excitement!)

Yeah, I love them now - Smurfette likes them, says they sound manly and deep (perfect match for me ) but just too too loud (me too ).

I park in a big underground basement at work, and it's utterly deafening in there, with a vicious pulse/reverb that beats your head in - plus there's a little filing office leading off there, and I'm sure they're going to cry about them. I think I'm going to be parking at the entrance, even I have a little consideration.

I'm just worried about the track - They won't make the 102db limit from 20 metres away so I'm going to have to lug my std (facking heavy ) cans around - Or can I stuff massive reams of steel wool in there

With the engine running much smoother than before, I thought that was a sign of richer running?

Also, with less oxygen at our altitude, I thought the air/fuel ratio would bump towards the rich side too? I'm definitely confused now.

So maybe I should threaten the ktm dealer's kids to have the latest akra map loaded, since that's apparently quite rich?

And a credit card is the same as a turbo'd hayabusa to me; I WILL max it out every time, and end up dead .

Just on the side; the fuel consumption is definitely worse even though I'm riding a touch softer (I worked this weekend, and leave at 6am so took it very easy). 157km from 16.5l when compared to previous 180-odd... Have any influence on your thinking it's running lean?
