Why do people put those plastic panels back on over their after market Akra slip ons?...the long narrow ones that fit right between the seat and the muffler. I think they are there to protect the passengers legs but those titanium (very poor conducter of heat) Akras never get seriously hot. I can rest my bare hand right on them after any sort of a ride. Compared to the stock pipes the Akras are very cool...and the bike looks much better with less plastic...See the difference in the photos of the same bike with and without the panels.

if you plan to keep the panels away, you better think painting the subframe and passenger footpegs black. That way imho it will look much better.

I've tried the same at mine but in the end i used the carbon exhaust panels of teh R model. That looks teh best to my eyes

Its an aluminium sub frame isn't it? So what's wrong with it being "aluminium" colored. If I didn't have to occassionally lug my wife around, I'd get rid of those passenger peg assemblies too. But everyone to their own I guess. After all, some people actually like fairings for the way they look.

and why can't I type "a l u m i n u m" ..why does the site automatically change that to aluminium....a PHD History Professor friend is currently writing the history of aluminium and he tells me that "a l u m i n u m" is the original spelling.
