Long rides and the seat

I was wondering how comfortable the seat is on long rides. When I ride with friends we ride over 200 miles for the day. The closest fun road is over 80 miles away for me. I've been wanting a Duke for a while now but when I sat on one at the dealer the seat didn't seem that great (the problem with my F4I). It did have the leg room I'm looking for though. Also I've been reading more and more posts about bad reliability. The front breaks thing is a little unnerving, but I do live in sunny California. Any info is much appreciated.

Well, to be a Super Duke rider:

1. You have to be the type that relishes the feral bark of an uber quick-revving dry sump v-twin. You won't be mistaken for an R1 or Harley.

2. You have to relish being hurtled down the road with the power delivery inline-4 mfgs are now tuning for (big-bang and the R1 Crosswave). Big secret: It's because we can get on the throttle earlier out of corners.

3. You have to like a bike that has fantastic handling. Mid-corner corrections are a snap, and the bike has pretty good stability and slide dynamics for a bike with such quick geometry.

4. You have to like top-shelf brakes and extremely-adjustable suspension coming standard. Brembo and WP. Nuff said.

5. You have to be able to appreciate that all the above comes with a comfortable, sane standard seating position. No aching wrists and back.

6. You have to be ready to accept that all the carbon-copy sport bikes can go faster down long straights, but can't touch you in corners. of a guy putting an SD (recorded by a buddy on a 999R) through the paces on a track. He doesn't get passed in the corners, only on longer straights where we pay the price for our shitty aeros and lower hp. We give up about 25 mph to the streamlined sport bikes.

7. You got to be ready to immediately spend the money to replace the leaden stock muffler and install the proper map.
