FWIW my bike was using a similar amount of coolant. One of the head gaskets was bad. My dealer replaced all of the head and base gaskets.

Try replacing the radiator cap, if it's not sealing completely it'll blow coolant out of the breather pipe.

Hi All

I had a read of that repair howto on the Adventurer site and decided to
give it a go. Yes, the water pump seal is definately shit itself, so it's fault
confirmed !

I ordered parts a few days ago. Today I pulled her down so that I could
confirm the fault and so that I can take the faulty parts into the dealer for
a match up (dealers here won't refund their fuckups once the parts
leave their store).

I didn't follow this guys sequence. I built the special tool to remove
the impeller (as shown in the guys howto), however, if I had undone it
using this, I would have broken the impeller since the bolt was extremely
welded by the loctite. So, I made a rectangular key (connects to the engine
side of the impeller shaft) so I could crank the bolt using a normal ratchet.
Basic

A silly question: Why not crank the impeller bolt when it's connected to the
drive assembly ?. The coupling to the crank is all metal and you can't break
any plastic. I don't understand why the guy made special tool to crank it ?.
Am I missing something ?

I noticed that the crank shaft journal (in the case -- see picture below) is
worn...hmmmm....

As somebody who is "anal" about warming up their bike to 3 bars and using
the very best syth, I am surprised to see this.

Cheers

Ja
