Low Oil - Overheating

Hi all, yet another question.
Have been trying to troubleshoot the symptoms myself but as I am not technical I might be wrong.

Noticed that the bike wasn't running as normal. At the traffic lights it stalled a few times which it normally never does.
Then it started to overheat which it normally would do in traffic but this time it affected the running of the bike which became hesitant under (easy) acceleration.
When I drove into the car park at work I noticed the red temperature light flashing - but I was still only on 4-5 bars... (fan works)
Turned off the bike - gave it a minute and restarted - no red flashing lights. Revved the engine a few time and the Speedo started reading 13kph with each rev even though the bike was parked up?? Odd!
Then checked the oil level which was below minimum. No worries I thought - I'll top that up when I get home.
On the way home the bike was overheating again but running fine otherwise. As I was contious of the low oil level I pulled into a pertol station to check the oil level which was back to normal. Back on the road I finally hit a bit of open road & I notice that the speedo was reading erratically. One second it's actual speed - next second it over reads by 9kph??)

From reading other treads on 'Over Heating' I can associate it to the low oil level. (my assumption)
But I am unsure about the flashing lights & funny speed readings?
Considering the bike cover was blown off during the bad weather this weekend I thought it might be down to dampness in the electrics but there was no sign of dampness under the seat - however I did not check the headlight cowl...

So slight Gremlin overload for my limited tech-ability ... any thoughts?

Cheers Lads. It's off to the dealer this AM anyway so I'll keep an an eye out for any funny behaviour. If it continous I'll have the dealer have a look. Otherwise I can do it in my own time.

Had a read through the linked - my symptons are not as bad but similar at least.

Just an update on the previous.
Went into work this morning - all electrical gremins have gone. It must have been some dampness that got in after the horrendous weather last weekend. It must have dried up as not problems at all today.

As for the clutch.
Brought it into the (new) KTM dealer this morning.
It was raining again so he was not going to let me out on the RC8 as it had shot Super Corsa's so I got a Duke 690 while they we're looking at the SD clutch. It was only an hour and a half later when they rang me to tell me that the previous KTM dealer had topped up the clutch with the correct fluid but had used a different brand - bright green in colour. (dealer confirmed it did not affect the seals)

They replaced it now with with the motorex stuff and all is back to normal again.
