Well, I figured some of you might be interested, so I weighed the Forged Al Marchesini (KTM Powerparts) wheels and BRAKING SK unidirectional rotors. Here are the results:

Marchesini Front rim (complete with spacers and bearings) w/o rotors: 8 lbs 3.7 oz

Marchesini Rear rim (complete with spacers and bearings) w/o rotors and sprocket carrier: 12 lbs 4.4 oz

Braking SK Unidirectional Front Rotor: 2 lbs 12.3 oz

Braking Rear Rotor: 1 lb 10.1 oz

Brake rotor bolts: .37 oz each

Weight of the Rear Wheel with Braking Rotor and 5 bolts: 14.022 lbs

Weight of the Front Wheel with 2 Braking Rotors and 12 bolts: 14.046 lbs

The wheels do look sweet. Improved braking is a good thing , but I suspect that a more agressive pad may have help there. I plan to use a more agressive Brembo pad next.

I too look for result over form as I get older and care less about showing off my ride. Having saved 5 or so pounds of weight when I replaced my ailing lead acid battery with a lithium ferros one for MSRP cost of a KTM replacement was money well spent in my book.

However, i think those wheels would look even mkre awesome in orange - enjoy
