ARRGHH!!!

ok so i sold my leo vinces....a result of which being I discovered I hadn't removed the leo vince mounting bracket and replaced it with the akra mounting bracket.

This is the bracket that goes in the end of the subframe and onto which the can hangers bolt onto. The akra one is shown below.

now.... the cylindrical bit, on the right.... won't bloody fit!! It's too big... as if the diameter is 1mm too much or something.

what the hell?!

help!!

It looks just like mine. Did you back the bolt out enough so that the two pieces are not out of alignment when inserted into the subframe?

How about using a pencil file? Just smooth it out?

I've got an '07. Mine slid in no problem when I put them on in '07. They also slid in fine when I put on a new subframe and cans after throwing it down the track in '09.

Fella,

one of mine went in fine and the other didn't. I noticed it was due to some extra material inside the tube from the manufacturing process that made it narrower, I just filed it out with a very small and fine file and in it slid. Stick your little pinky in there and have a feel around for any lumps etc.

surely they wouldn't change the internal diameter of the subframe between model years?? I was sure exhausts weren't model specific too...

hopefully it's just a bit of material left over from manufacturing, though it's very odd that the leo vince bracket fit just fine! Maybe the previous owner somehow got around it?!
