Naturally hot Superduke?

Well here in Sacramento, CA. Its been around 90-100 degrees this summer.

The bike on the freeway has around 70-75% full on the temp gauge, then when i'm at a stop light she hits almost full except for one bar. Then today!!! I'm sitting at a stop light, look down and the Temp light is blinking!!! Along with the temp bars blinking. So my question is, is this normal?

-Electric fan does come on
-Radiatior is full

-Note: the coolant does look alittle watery.

Take out some water, replace with more coolant.

This should go a good way to reducing the heat issues.

Haven't yet gone through an aussie summer yet, hopefully its still tolerable in the middle of summer...

I have sat at a light with my the temp on the gages at 112*F in the AZ sun and my bike has only gotten up to having one bar left. I have the purple engine ice in it. I think my bike runs a little cooler because of it.

so my question still is. Should this bike regularly over heat running at a stop?? Something doesn't sound right. Bought the bike 3 weeks about btw.

ive been through a few a couple really hot brisbane summers. Yes the bike runs hot, but Im yet to see the temp gauge flashing and thats thru a couple of horrible 40.C+ days.. yuuckkk . Other than the fact the seat got too hot to sit on after a pitstop the bike was fine. If you're really worried about it in traffic etc, hit the killswitch @ traffic lights and just let the fan run? More coolant / less water will help for sure.

if your weather does not get below freezing then use distilled water and water wetter (redline). water/wetter conducts heat better.

wire in a switch to manuall turn on the fans. stock thermoswitch turns on way too late. the air flow should help alot.
