New Leo Vince exhaust

Raven

Raven

Just scored a set of Leo Vince exhausts in carbon fiber, only now they come with a conical end cap.
Way better looking and more in keeping with the exquisite lines of the SD
Pics to follow after mounting...

The install goes really smoothly with these cans. Much better construction and mounting than the Akra's I usually buy. You'll like them a lot. Especially the asthetics! They look fantastic.

These are the shit
Sorry, just had to get that out there.
The bass is there, even with the DB killers in. Welcome back Mr. V

The install was pretty straightforward. The quality of the hard ware is absolutely first rate.

The carbon looks really good with the 'anthrazite' panels.
Sorry Leo Vince - no stickies on these bad boys
Here is a short clip with the DB's in at idle:

And without DB:

Ride report to follow, but to cover the basics:
-updated standard map
-SAS still in place
-gear limiter disabled

Me likes.... to much..... made the laptop shake with the DB's out... when possible... can you vid w/ some twists of the throttle?
Thank you
Raven

Raven

They look fantastic Raven, and the carbon look better than the ti/stainless effort on their site - MUCH better. It's just, can nothing be done about the huge gap where the heatshields were, that's the only (minor) issue imo. But otherwise;

"Waiter, I'd like to order the new leo carbons... no, hold the baffles" !

Ohhh... this bike makes me do bad, bad things
The soul has been unleashed. This thing has mad presence in the street. No DB killers will be the way to go for me unless the MPG is suffering too much.
I still have popping on decel but no backfiring.
It sounds unreal.
Oddly enough, engine braking seems to have softened a bit.
Also, hitting the rev limiter more often, but then I just check that off to the extra sweet music
I might also play with the length of the restrictors (DB) as 9nine0 has done with his Akra's.
This would be a happy medium for economy and sound.
Next up SAS removal...just can't stand that stupid plastic can under the seat

Also, mounted up a Garmin 2820, powerlet socket, and CRG barend mirrors. This is my version of the 'touring' SD

Next up is heated grips and soft side bags. I intend on buying the SM setup and seeing if I can fab something out to make it work.

Once again, better late than never. My swan song on this list. At any rate, here/hear they are, the (now disputed), carbon fiber, conical-ended LEO's! THANK YOU RAVEN! (We also removed the 2-3 gear limiter, ran a charging lead off the battery for a bonus - all in about 2 1/2 hours!!!)I love them! Ride report: At first there was noticeable backfiring and popping, (updated map installed), which after about 60 miles have disappeared - giving way to a pleasing, throaty, Duc-like rumble!!!! Power, which had slightly dissapated in the beginning has returned as well.

Please see Raven's mgg reports above - very accurate! As for loudness and tone, I'm leaving the baffles in. The tone is awesome, and the neighbors are hatin' me just enough. I was giving my friends kids a ride 2-up and I actually had his neighbor spray me with a hose! Felt like I was a dog in a dog fight for chrissakes. I guess I was winding it up a bit in second, but geez!!! On the next pass another good citizen came out into the street with crossed arms and the biggest harrrummph on her face I've ever seen...! I put the bike away

I hope enthusiasts will look at the brutal nakedness of the picture without the orange manifold trim... Just beautiful, almost went that way, but I ultimately decided that KTM's, at least mine, needed to be ORANGE. Thanks again 9nine0 for your help with figuring out what to do about maps etc!! And to Raven - solidarity man!!

This is food for thought... I know there are those that don't like seeing the silver heat shield under the seat - but isn't this a BEAUTIFUL piece of naked, brute, workmanship. Food for thought...

Three cheers for this board

I just disabled the SAS system. Man, that took about 3 hours and a whole lot of patience
Did it without removing the airbox, oiltank or coolant lines.
9nine0 was spot on with the diode (22k at 1/4 amp) and the backfiring which is now cured, but will be seriously missed
Runs very smoothly - curious if this will effect the mpg's any
The sound seemed to change slightly (quieter), maybe due to a more efficient combustion
I think I'm going to shorten the restrictors like 9nine0 suggested
I want the bark and the mpg's dammit

9nine0 you are the MAN

Possibly a silly question. What of the two will run better? Running the open Leos (the fast conical ones) on the akra map or running them with a PCIII on the racing slip-ons map from the dynojet site.

We don't have facilities over here for anyone to do a custom map.

Hidrio , Pipes are fun.

felt like the rant was out of place.
robbo01

I'm looking for a linear delivery. Ease of use is the order of the day rather than outright horsepower. Maybe the akra map will suit me better until a potential visit from a Dynojet bloke with his trailer from the UK becomes a reality.

Now, lets not go into the "fastest colour" debate again, but surely, based on the length of this topic, we can all agree Leos are the fastest cans.
