That's got to be an improvement over stock - I have to admit, I thought it would need to be longer than that but I'll have one if it keeps the crap of the rear shock. Please post up some pix of it on the bike ASAP.

Any chance of making a 2" extended chain guard to keep the chain lube off the Akras??

Hugger arrived this morning and is very good quality carbon.... had to drop the rear wheel to allow acess to the screw that holds the chain guide to the hugger, but quickly fitted...... and as promised here are some pics all are clickable to increase size for a beter view

should protect the rear shock a lot better than the oe plastic item thanks to Matt/Debbie at Twinshack for producing this in a very short time span

That loks very neat, like plipton asked, a 1-2" extension on the chainguard wouldnt look out of place (especially as most have wheels further back what with 16t front sprocket) and will keep chain lube off of pipes/indicators/passenger.

It would be a relatively easy task to lengthen the chain guard. What is the general consensus on extra length then..1" or 2" (Fnar Fnar)

Plipton..... trouble is like all huggers its mounted to the swingarm,so when the rear wheel is adjusted to take up the chain slack it moves rearwards and further away from the hugger, this is more so if the front sprocket has been swapped for the 16 tooth version, when the chain is new i guess it would be as close as you suggest, but only for a short period of time, the standard little guard is not close to the wheel, and this one just follows the lines of that one just on a longer arc....... the longer the hugger is the more chance of it vibrating,i had a longer one on my buell which looked great, unfortunatly it was banging off the top of the tyre whilst i was riding along....... as a shock guard as this is designed for,its going to do a better job..... ever thought of changing your chain lube by the way? i usr castrol chain wax and have no problems with fling onto the underneath of the bike,so the standard leangth of the chainguard is fine for me

Both the hugger and chain guard are now available from our web site at:

for the hugger
and
for the chainguard.

The chainguard is only available in the standard length at present. We would need to make a completely new mould for a longer one and would rather wait to guage demand before doing that yet.
