i believe it is illegal to tamper with odometer reading (at least here it is...) so most dealers just say "no" ....

Also, i had the battery out many times, it never reset
weird.

I never took the battery out. I disconnected the negative terminal to install the tender lead. I connected the plus side to the fuse box. my best guess is that it happened when the battery was low and I tried starting it, as there was other things going on on the display that I never saw before. Just thought that I could'nt be that special, That this has surely happened to others on this site. On a sideways note. This bike is the bomb. I have never witnessed a more perfect street bike. We are so lucky to have these bikes.

It must be faulty. As far as I know there is a back up power source inside the odometer which should last for several years if disconnected.

If it's still under warranty then I'd suggest a trip to the dealer is in order. If not and it really bothers you (and might be a problem when you decide to sell) then you may have to shell out for a new one
