OE Steering Damper

Here's a new one, at least for me - steering damper clamp pivot bolt has rusted through and snapped (so much for spacer bush o-ring seal......), allowing damper to drop and rod to 'drill' holes through radiator - once repaired/replaced, will add a couple of loose-ish cable ties around damper and lower triple clamp to stop it dropping off below pivot bolt.
Comrade 47: That sort of rust could only happen in the UK Here the bikes fall apart because of the UV
Aye but probably still worth checking wherever you may be - assembly should have been packed with grease at factory but mine was as dry and full of powder as and like a cremation urn............
Nice heads up...preventive maintenance is key over the years.

My scotts steering damper is less exposed another reason to choose it
