oil burning

This is where it seems to be going on my bike...

this is the vent for the oil tank, where it connects to the air box and the resulting goo on the front throttle blade.

Just over 6000miles on my US spec 08SD. Uses an average of 150cc per 1000 road miles. No track days yet.

what brand and weight of oil is everyone using?

What was the break-in procedure for these oil eaters?
