Hello
I bought a used SD and now is time for an oil change. For what I saw on the owners manual, seems to be pretty complex....
If I just follow the instructions on the manual, will I be ok?
There are missing steps or steps that can be skiped?
Do I really need to change the O rings every time I change the oil? or just grease the old ones and put them back?
Thanks in advance,
I know that probably some of you guys have done this many times but it is all new to me.

did my first oil change on my SD-R, jeez you need fingers like thai brides to get the sump plug in...like the way the book says put 2.5l in...it took another litre at least to get it to the right level in the hour glass!!!
still very proud of myself as i wasnt going to pay INMOTO £150 for the privilege...had to take a calculated guess at the torque setting on the sump plug as i couldnt get my spanner in there...

Don't be tempted to initially fill your oil tank with the 3.3 liters the engine takes. I tried this as I knew my bike takes exactly 3.3 liters...big mistake. The fooking oil tank only holds 2.6 liters. Needless to say, oil everywhere. Took a a bit to get it all cleaned up.

You've been warned.

That's just a filter.

If you want a full KTM brand oil change kit then you would need this:

However I just clean all my screens instead of replacing them been fine for almost 40k miles now.

Me too, those things never seem to wear out. Unless they're damaged don't bother.

Thanks all! Anyone point me to the direction of the screens I should clean?
