Oil leakage SDR

Shade, did your leak get worse and worse or did it just continues at a steady rate?

oh, it got worse.

I had it for over a year.....it was manageable with cleaning and never presented a problem but then on the ride down to Lydden last year it suddenly got worse and pissed out at very high revs. Mostly over about 8000rpm. That was why I was so nervous on track that day and pulled over a lot to check it (and my rear tyre) out for oil.

When they opened it up they said there was minor corrosion on the engine block under the seal (back part of bottom seal on front cylinder) so maybe water sits there....? I dunno.

Anyway, as Weeksy will no doubt be looking at it now....they sealed it up with new gasket and some super dooper sealant so it'll never break/leak again and should never need cracking open again either. £250 at the dealer to get it done....but glad I did, wish I'd sorted it sooner and saved myself the hassles of living with it.

talc and some mad bastard revving in the garage revealed it.

Pissed the people off who live near my garage a LOT. Blokes wife who works nights sent him out to bollock me but he was a sypathetic petrol head and helped me spot the leak.
