I am sure this is dumb question but do you have to drain the oil first or just pull the old line off and replace with RC fuel line?

Hello Kengray, Cut the old tube while still mounted to the tank, slip it off and slip the RC tube right back on real fast, may loose an ounce or so but if you had a helping finger maybe none at all. The auto parts store stock rubber vacuum plugs that could minimize the oil loss.

Mine was under warranty. I took it to the shop and they replaced it. The new tube looks slightly different than the old one.

Ok, so this seems to be the newest thread on the RC fuel line/oil sight tube replacement so I will post my question here.
I replaced my sight tube with RC fuel line and immediatly got an air bubble in the tube. Figured it would go away after I ran it for a bit but it didn't.
After a few days it annoyed me enough that I drained the tank and refilled it. Seemed to work at first but it came back!
If I let it sit for 5 minutes or so it goes away but it bugs the hell out of me as I usually don't let it cool off that much before checking the oil level.
Anyone else have this problem?
Thanks

Hey legend you sure its a air bubble and not water? Also Rc silicone tubing can take a lot of heat its top stuff.

I will say that KTM Santa Monica isn't my dealership. They were nice to me and fixed it right away for $18.00 I was happy and I was on my way. Leaning the bike way over to the right does take all the oil from the tube. Very cool.

Just noticed where mine has a slight crack near the top fitting. Local dealer doesn't have anything in stock to fix it at the moment, so it looks like I'm slapping a zip tie on it.

does anyone know the part number so I can order from KTM as I think I may need the new Nuts as well I think that is where my problem lies not with the tube
