Ok, question on LEO's

Reading around, have not found a definitive answer...

I am thinking of throwing on a set of the aluminium slipons onto my SD. I will eventually get a PCIII and custom map made, but for now, I don't want to spend the extra $500+ for that.

So, can I just toss the Leo's on and ride it? I know that there is a "reset ECU" procedure for the system to adjust itself. Just start it without touching the throttle and let is sit idling for at least 15 minutes? How do you know when it is done?

And I am assuming that all that really does is adjust the trim. It might idle at the right AFR, but I am sure there will be lean and flat spots under load at higher revs.

Has anyone just thrown the slipons on the bike with no other changes? I will not do a modded airbox or high flow filter till I get the PCIII and map made to account for that.

But I don't want to toss the LEO's on and have the bike run like crap, this requiring me to get get the PCIII and custom map.

Or should I try to get my dealer to download the Akra map to the bike for a minimal charge? He owes me for charging me to install a 16t front sprocket, knowing that I wanted to go down 1 tooth on the front and he did not know that 16t was the stock size, he thought it was 17. LOL

Your thoughts?

i have brought a pair of akrapovic cans for my 08 SDR and dieing to fit them, but i have been told it needs a re-map and i dont want 2 fit them and mess something up on the bike before i get a chance to get to my dealers and he didnt seem that keen on just doing the re-map he said if you bring the cans we will fit them and re-map it for £75.
