OK, so I gutted the cat

I just drilled out, chiseled and yanked with pliers for about 2 hours to get all of the material out of the cat converter.

I did not cut open the muffler and remove the tube and stuff, just the material from the cat tube, so the length is the same, the direction of flow is the same, it just no longer has to breath through the restrictive cat converter itself.

Sounds a bit better, I started the bike and did not touch the throttle and let it idle for like 20 minutes to allow the ECU to reset itself.

Seems to rev fine, but it is 50 degrees and raining so I did not take it out for a ride.

My question is, can you just tune this thing with a tune-boy instead of a PCIII? I think that my tuner has that setup in addition for his regular PCIII stuff.

I may still get the Leo's, but in either case wanted to know if the stock ECU can be retuned and have the O2 sensors disabled without spend $400 on the PCIII.

Thanks!

To perform a basic ECU reset you need to disconnect the battery via the plug on the front of the main fuse block next to the battery then perform the 15 minute idle procedure.

o2 eliminators are available from DynoJet for about $16 each.

You need to make you own SAS air pump eliminator with a matching plug and 800-1000 ohm resistor.

Eliminating the cats, o2 sensors, and SAS system, then performing the basic ECU reset "should" make the bike run proper.

Oh, I did not know that I had to disconnect the battery before doing the reset. Doh!

I will go do that now.

I already eliminated the SAS. Pulled the hose from the airbox, jammed a marble in there, reattached it. SAS disabled.
