Powdercoating or anodizing?

Hey guys, I'm wanting to black out my SD a bit more....things like the engine support brackets, rear footpeg hangers & triples. I was thinking of going the powdercoating route, but then was wondering (in the case of the triples) if the coating would cause problems when sliding the forks back in.
Any of you guys powdercoated your triples? Just looking for some advice....cheers

Rob

Certain bits would def take better to powder coating like the wheels. Parts can be masked off though so no reason why clamps couldn't be powder coated I guess

Wouldn't bother powedercoating, unless there's just some crazy color you have to have.

It adds weight! lol

Seriously - as long as you have the fork/steering tube bores, all threads and screw counterbores masked - powder coating shouldn't be a problem. Except for that added weight thing. Which will totally slow you down.

Sharpie to the rescue!

Powder coat it! Anodizing fades big time. Especially blank, it turns a black purple over time.

Dependson material typre and surface finish. Cast of forged parts will be flat machined or polished pars will not.

Well, I have a few hard anodised parts on my RD400 that were done by British Aerospace 25 years ago,(Silver/Black/Gold) none have faded that I can see

Also none of the powder coating on the bike done at the same time has faded either
