+1, and all the maps on PC3 website are for 05, so go ahead and get it... and tell the mechanic he's full of sh;t.

This isn't the mechanic that diagnosed your charging problems as a dud battery is it?
superdukegod

superdukegod

Your local mechanic is a cock , very few differences between '05 and '06, none of which would make a difference to fitting a power commander

Jeeeeeese! I know what you all mean now about removing the battery!!! quick one really just fitting PC3 and have to attach the lead to the negative side of the battery, is there anywhere "easier" to put it or does it have to go on the battery supply, or can I "bodge" it into the negative lead from my optimate charger or would that make me a cowboy????

Got DNA filter coming tomoz.........

sorted, put the O2 eliminaters on too

will fit my filter when it arrives.

There is a new Dynojet rolling road centre in Lincoln down the road £30 to sort fueling......nice

So all I need now is to hook up the usb to my PC3 which is on my bike and download the relevant map from the database?.....i believe I will need the map akra slip on's with baffles, air filter, O2 jobbies installed, stock ECU with Akrapovic tune? (I have the akra map) is that right? not had one before cant wait to try it out!

i would'nt bother with the pc now you can do more with the rapid bike module and i would think the tuneboy would be a better bet as well, its a shame dynojet did'nt get their arse into gear when we needed them a year ago.

Hey Ride-KTM, where in Brisbane ru, I'm in Morningside.

I just got back from Dynojet in Las Vegas this morning with the SuperDuke, I took it out there to test the 'production' versions on the pciii-usb and it is good to go

The reason it has taken so long is that DJ had a customer from California that was supposed to bring them their bike a couple of months ago but the guy dissappeared or they lost contact with him or something. Since the bikes havent been released here trying to get one of the few grey import bikes in the country has been a pain. Shit I drove 16 hours non-stop to get them the bike, still, it was worth the trip

While i dont have the dyno graphs with me the difference in the ideal fueling between the front and rear cylinder is huge!

Clarkie,

Some answers to your questions:

The O2-sensor has not been disabled, still works.
RP3 gives the oppurtunity for two maps, in my case with and without db-killers.
So you can map each cilinder separately, but then you use both available maps. One map used for each cilinder.
It's an option when you see serious differences between the cilinders.

[quote="ger"]To deleat the remapping just disconnect the battery for 20 min.

....are you sure? Surely if the map was to delete itself after 20 min, then you would have to remap everytime the battery went flat or you disconnected the battery to do work. I thought the remap was a replacement for the standard map in the ecu, and therefore cannot be altered without the software to do so? If it's true, then we all need to be careful, has anyone got any further info on this?

So the guy I just bought my SD from said it already has a Power Commander. Before I start removing pieces to see if it's there or not, where would I look for it?

Thank you....

Which one should I get? The PC3? How do you map it for an Akropovic slip on?
boney95

boney95

You have to put it on a dyno so your tuner and tune it with the PC.
boney95

boney95

I've got an 08, and I used a PC3. I do believe the newer PC5 works for the 08+ bikes too? Go to the PC website to confirm fitment.
SDNerd

SDNerd

Not knowing which model SD you have, I would go with the PCV. E.g., if you have an 08 standard SD: Smaller, and capable of more options.

Yes, it says it's for a 2009+ model, but it connects right up, and works well.

If you want to pop for the AutoTune, you want model AT-300 (2-channel, for individual fine tuning of each cylinder). BTW - it's best to get a real dyno tune with your setup, then apply the AutoTune.

I fitted a PC3 and it isn't in the tool tray under the seat. The best place for it is tucked in front of the fuse box on its side. It's quite recessive so check there as well before you decide the bike hasn't got one fitted. Also some people fit them behind the headlight and if has had the air box removed there's loads of room yo hide it away under the tank.

or in the mask
ktmguy

ktmguy

The best way to find out if the bike has one it to inspect the big grey plug as people tend to hide the PC in different places on the SD.
You find this on the right hand side of the bike under the tank spoiler near the coolant tank. If you see two pairs of these the bike has a PC as it plugs in between the original which is a female/ male pair.
Haven't got a pic but you can't miss it

You are aware that you can tune this bike without a power commander?! Read up on the tuneecu tread.
You only need the cable and free software.
