I agree on most what you say here Orangejohn, not completely on the TuneBoy part though.

It's very much a matter of experience. I work with the TuneBoy specialist and importer here in NL who has been working with TuneEdit & TuneBoy (and PCIII and RB) for years. He remaps a bike very quickly and very accurately. I does take a little more time than the fairly simple and straight forward PCIII but that's worth it in my view.

Like you say, it's the most sophisticated way of doing it and the most reliable. With the best results if the operator knows his stuff. But that's an absolute requirement.

BTW, the fact that it's invisible on the bike can be a big advantage too. Insurance companies are not always happy with tuned/tampered vehicles if something happens... Nor are dealers when it comes to warranty issues. Just put back the stock map in 2 minutes and you're done...

Interesting stuff.

If you read thru the posts here on the PCIII it gets mixed reviews, which is probably down to the dyno equipment & tuner.

I've decided on the Tuneboy & will use available maps - I don't need a perfect race tune - just a smooth running bike.
At least you get the ability to use ALL the available maps, read error codes, & tinker about with it in the garage on a rainy day

How much of a difference are you supposed to feel in daily use between a "official" KTM-Akra, PCIII, TB or RB map/tune?
