Quick throttle?

Having done a fair few laps on the SDR now, I've come to the conclusion that there are certain things I have to get, such as rear sets and a slipper clutch. No problems there.

However, I'm also looking for a quick throttle. Ideally, I'd like to have the original/standard throttle response up to about half throttle, then have the second half faster, making for a throttle that needs to be turned approximately 3/4 or 4/5 or so of the original setup.

Any ideas?

This is the "quick action" that most of use believe it comes with whats called a 50 cam, some use a 25 cam for even shorter twist.

You can also get the cntrol kit from them which comes with a 100(same as stcok I think) 200 and 300 cam, albeit I dont think they quicken the throttle.

So in essence if you got a 50 cam and 100cam you could swap for track and road.

Do you find the bike snatchy or smooth?

If smooth go for quick action.

If snatchy, make sure you have done all the mods that cure it the most. O2 elims, Tune ECU/powercommander, THEN get the quick action.

Slipper is great on track with the SD

Some one did do a home made quick action. I think it might have been Gregz??? Try a search.

Thanks. Been looking at those. Only available through the website?

Yeah, had a few rear wheel locks yesterday at the track. No idea why they wouldn't put one in there stock.

Alright, spoken to the manufacturers now. Am leaning towards a 50 CAM.

Anyone who uses them? Pros, cons? I've used quick throttles on inline fours before, but never a twin.

Most of us that have tried the 50 cam love it but are now looking at getting the 025 cam to reduce twist to full throttle that bit more.

050 cam is about 10% reduction and 025 is 20%

Get both cams and then you can decide for yourself.

Yeah, the 50'cam is great...:after you have sorted out any surging issues. It makes the bike feel a bit snappier. It's fun.

There are no cons with a 50 cam?! well maybe the fact you have to pay for it....do it and get the 25 cam as stated.

Or glue a zip tie around the standard cam... Works a treat and only a couple of cents.. Imo, its how the bike should have come
