Tony he is talking of the nuts that are in the exsisting brackets or frame,

cjc, I had noticed that the bolts are really too long on the R&G stuff, to the point I was carefully watching that they were not hitting anything, I have decided that I am going to take mine back out and cut them to the proper length cos if I were to have ANOTHER crash, that those bolts being too long could possibly make contact with the cylinder head, and we can't have that shit going on now can we?
Right. I'm talking about the original nuts behind the ends of the Y on the bike, across which the R&G bar is bolted (the bar to which the bobbin is bolted). The original nuts were held in place by bits of plastic but a couple of them popped out when I pushed in the R&G bolts. The nuts have a thin cut lateral to the threads, and the cut was compressed mostly shut. The only reason I can imagine is to help hold in the original bolts.

Just inserting them, I also was worried the R&G bolts were to long - had to push some parts out of the way. Maybe I'll cut them down also.

I bought some new nuts and will try those.
