It's not stiffness of the springs, it's valving.

You are right, the stock springs are .95kg/mm front and 17kg/mm rear. For my weight I required 1.05kg/mm front and 19.6kg/mm rear to get the proper sag measurements which is sustantially stiffer than stock.

The valving is what is causing the harshness (or stiffness as you refered to it). You are light enough that the stock springs are probably keeping you up in the plusher part of the stroke. In my case I needed stiffer springs to do the job and valving to match.

For some, the stock stuff may work ok. Once you've experienced proper suspension it's hard to argue with the confidence it provides you with.
