Rear cylinder exhaust gasket

Following on from my other post about a vibration felt through the bike, the dealer (Tony @ sussex sport motorcycles) has traced the problem to the wire wool type gasket between the rear cylinder header pipe (the difficult one to get to behind the swing-arm) and the y-piece.
He says he has done 3 of these now and the problem seems to begin with excess 'popping and banging' on the overrun.
All fixed now and running smooth again (for an SD!).
