Rear spring

Has anyone re-painted their rear spring?
Mine is looking very tatty - the coating is flaking off and its rusty.
Is it best powder coated? Will normal spray painting crack from the spring flexing?
Should I just do it myself with a couple of spray cans?

Not unless you want to spray it again rather quickly.

Needs shot blasting and powder coating for a proper job.

Or you could buy a shock cover and just hide it
